This is a song that reflects what means the most to Lothario. Most people consider family to be just those related to them by blood or marriage. But Lothario believes that family are those who care about your well being and want to see you succeed in life. And it doesn't matter their culture, religion, sex, or age because it is contained in the heart.
This is a three part story that starts out on the shores of Africa during the Atlantic Slave Trades. It tells of the horrors the African soldiers faced and how they lost their lives trying to protect their families.
Then it goes to the days of slavery in America where the horrors continued to haunt the lives of the Africans causing them to either give in or find their opportunity to fight back.
And the last story is about how the Africans, now American citizens, still were living through the horrors that their ancestors faced by being attacked by dogs and having firehoses opened up on them for standing for equality in the 1960's. Which translates to what's still going on in our present day.
